Ritardando

gradually slowing

In the score

Engraved by Verovio 6.3.0-425dd7b rit.

♩ = 164 → 80

What it means

rit. or ritard. — the tempo relaxes. Rallentando means the same; ritenuto, by contrast, is an immediate holding back, not a gradual one.
